BRAKE
INSPECTION:
Brakes are designed to last approximately 20K to 60K miles. Every 30K miles
the brake system needs to be inspected, adjusted, cleaned, and lubricated.
The amount of mileage brakes will last depends on the quality of brake friction
material, the surface of the rotors and drums, and the quality of the work
performed. Quality brake work makes for safe stopping ability and prevents
annoying squeaks.
Brake fluid wears out due to the heat created from using your brakes. Brake
fluid is hydroscopic, therefore attracts moisture. Moisture is detrimental
to the brake hydraulic system. Brake fluid needs to be flushed every 30K miles
to prevent costly replacement of calipers, wheel cylinders and master cylinder.
