Class Description - Puppy 102
(6 months and +)

This class will be scheduled 1 hour a week for 6 weeks.  During this time we will work to help pup recognize and respond to his/her name.  Proper socializing during recess time will be a must.  Sit stay, down stay for 3 minutes and recall.  Walking with the lead on the left side without pulling.  This will be a prelim for teaching the heel position.  If during the class there are any behavior problems, we sill discuss and cover them as they occur.                                      This class will be scheduled 1 hour a week for 6 weeks.  This class will continue to reinforce basic puppy/dog training...heel, walking on the left side, sit, sit stay, down stay and recall.  Also "parlor games" will be taught.  Some of these games include find it or find me, fetch it, leave it or drop it, shake, high five, and roll over.  Parlor games help to encourage mutual trust and understanding.  We will also attempt to learn "close the door" which is one of the more advanced games.  All of the above mentioned plus reinforcement of early training will ensure a good time for pup and human!

Please bring a slip/choke collar and a leash to class!

About the Trainer

Gene Krogman began working with dogs in 1966 as an officer on the Kansas City Police Department.  In 1968 he was promoted to trainer and received training at the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.  He became responsible for all aspects of training the dogs and handlers in the complete field of law enforcement as well as proper care and basic obedience.  After retiring from the department 27 years later, Gene continued to work on his own training dogs as a hobby.  Gene is an advocate for positive reinforcement training and he feels that it needs to be a fun experience for all involved, as you'll see reflected in his classes.
